Minesite Mobile Phone Trial Underway

Distant Curve has sought and gained Australian Government approval to undertake a targetted trial provisioning mobile phone (GSM and 3G) services to remote and rural enterprise that are not covered by other mobile phone carriers.
The trial will utilise cutting edge technology developed in the United States, which takes the traditional mobile phone system and virtualises much of the expensive transmission gear - a massive reduction in cost and complexity.
Distant Curve sees this technology as a huge opportunity for the mining sector in Australia and abroad, due to it's ability to provide a 'drop-in' mobile phone network at jobsites.
Our trial licence commences on the 7th of February, 2013, and we're currently seeking companies interested in participating as clients.

Matt is the founder of Distant Curve, and has a fairly unique CV encompassing scientific and engineering work throughout the world - with a focus on third world countries and the pacific rim.
Matt started his career as a research Engineer in the Sugarcane fields of North Queensland and PNG, where he led a project 'extending' exciting industry research to folks in the field.
This work directly led him to formal studies in the emerging realm of remote area communications engineering, a passion in which he has been productively engaged ever since.
Shannon is a highly motivated and results driven professional with over 12 years experience supporting senior executives and management teams on resource project in Australia, Papua New Guinea and the United Kingdom
Shannon has led administration teams in the successful delivery of large and complex projects. She excels in the training and development of those teams and augmentation of key business processes and strategies for optimum business performance.
Shannon is a truly diplomatic and articulate individual, and works to facilitate and engage all stakeholders in the fast moving, result driven project environment.
